worst-drivers-map

While driving through traffic, the driver and the principal  are at the mercy of the environment they are moving through. If the environment driven through is occupied  by high risk drivers the level of risk for the Security Driver and principal are also increased.

For decades, we have called this interaction with the environment the Security Drivers Triangle.

The risk varies considerably from city to city. When first read we were quite surprised (shocked) at the difference in risk from driving the principal in Boston and driving in New York. (A difference of 129%). Translated, the principals chance of an accident is 129% higher in Boston than they are in New York.

The statistics are from a study conducted by Allstate Insurance Company. They annually rank which of the 200 largest US cities have the safest drivers, but also which cities have the worst drivers.

The Statistics

Motorists in Boston, MA. are 157.7% more likely to get in an accident compared to the national average, with an average frequency of one crash every 3.3 years. The 10 cities with the most crash-prone drivers are located in the Northeast and in California.
