Introduction to the Security Driver Journal

Security Driving and Secure Transportation describe a profession—a job description that defines the skill set needed to supply safe and secure transportation.

The International Security Driver Association (ISDA) is the only organization dedicated to supporting the advancement of professional Security Drivers, Secure Transportation Providers, and Security Professionals responsible for the safety and security of their principals.  We provide them with data-driven research and other professional development tools.

What is the Journal?

ISDA’s Security Driver Journal is your essential resource for continuing education and benchmark research, all designed to improve your skillset and advance your business.

The Journal is a twice-monthly educational email publication containing articles written specifically for the Security Driver/Secure Transportation community delivered to your inbox.

Topics Covered

The Security Driver Journal is topic-specific. It will cover one subject related to the principal’s safe and secure transportation. It includes resources, references, and citations (i.e., “The Index”) to further help the reader understand a particular topic.

The Journal will also deliver a topic as a series on a specific subject, such as a series on Armored Vehicles, Surveillance Detection, and the Science of a Vehicle Ambush.

The Need

The profession is continuously evolving. Executive vehicles are changing at an exponential rate. Strategic decision-making is a significant factor in mitigating risk. Sound decisions require timely and relevant information.

Looking at the “Road Ahead”

Starting in the 1980s with the Scotti School’s quarterly newsletter and now through the International Security Driver Association’s Security Driver Journal, we continually research the topics that affect our profession. The future will create unprecedented challenges, such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, for those responsible for their principals’ safe and secure transportation. Let the Journal be your beacon.
