Cooling System
- Check coolant level (engine cold).
- Inspect radiator, hoses, and water pump for leaks/cracks.
- Confirm proper coolant mix (per manufacturer).
- Pressure-test system (if accessible).
Air Conditioning
- Confirm A/C cools the cabin quickly and evenly.
- Verify airflow in rear/VIP passenger zones.
- Test the blower speed and defroster operation.
Battery & Electrical
- Load-test battery (especially under high idle use).
- Clean and secure battery terminals.
- Confirm alternator performance under load.
Tires
- Check tire pressure when the tires are cold.
- Inspect for signs of heat damage (cracks, bubbles, tread separation).
- Confirm the spare tire is in good condition and inflated.
Fluids
- Engine oil level and condition.
- Transmission fluid level and condition.
- The brake and power steering fluid were topped off.
- Windshield washer fluid filled (bug-heavy season).

- Hydrated before shift.
- Carry personal water/electrolytes in vehicle.

Fatigue Monitoring
- Self-assess alertness every 2–3 hours.
- Schedule driving shifts to avoid prolonged heat exposure.
Attire
- Lightweight, breathable clothing appropriate for the assignment.
- Hat/sunglasses if operating outside the vehicle.
Driver Cooling Aids
- Cooling towels or packs are available.
- Portable fan or vent booster (optional).
VIP / PASSENGER SAFETY
Cabin Comfort
- The cabin is pre-cooled before the client enters the vehicle.
- Seat surfaces and buckles checked for excess heat.
- Rear cabin airflow and temp confirmed comfortable.
Sun Protection
- UV window tint or sunshades in place.
- Rear-seat window curtains or shades deployed (if available).
Emergency Supplies
- Bottled water and electrolyte packets are stored discreetly.
- Cold packs and wet wipes are available.
- An emergency medical kit includes heat-related first aid items.
OPERATIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
Route & Traffic Planning
- Avoid peak heat congestion routes.
- Identify rest stops with A/C if on an extended route.
Parking Strategy
- Use shaded or underground parking.
- Use windshield sunshades.
- Crack windows slightly (if it’s secure to do so).

- Heat-related issues are addressed in the threat/risk assessment.
