Executive Protection and Secure Transportation Magazine

Starting in the mid-1980s, the Scotti School published a quarterly newsletter for the Protective Service community. The Newsletter and Executive Protection and Secure Transportation Magazines (EPST) is one of the oldest Protective Services publications in the Profession.

Two Magazines

https://securitydriver.com/11/epst-magazine-november-2021-issue/

From 2020 to 2021, we sent out 14 Executive Protection and Secure Transportation Magazine Newsletters. Our members are frequent contributors to the newsletters and magazines.

The Member Newsletter

Along with the EPST magazine and newsletter, our members received private newsletters. From 2020 to the end of 2021, we sent fourteen member-only newsletters that covered the news that affected the Executive Protection and Secure Transportation community. The newsletters covered many subjects, such as Business Metrics, Corporate Executive Protection Strategy, Armored Vehicles, to lessons learned from Vehicle Ambushes.

The Association Training Directory

In the 2020-2021 time span, we created and updated our directory of members who offer training. The training directory is freely available on our website and n a downloadable PDF. We have marketed the directory throughout our Network. In 2021 there was an increase in the number of Training Providers joining the association.

Marketing Assistance

We continued to offer our members programs that assisted their marketing efforts. In 2021 we created a free online training program from our precedent-setting Roadmap to Success white paper.

Creation of the Business Metrics and Data Knowledge Center

Over the past two years, the Protective Services business continuously evolved. We realize that strategic decision-making is a significant factor in mitigating risk. Sound decisions require timely and relevant information. In 2021, to meet the Membership needs, we supplied members with operational and business data that has assisted in the preparation of benchmarking, marketing, and operational planning.

Tool Kit Resource Center

A phrase you often hear is “Tools for the Toolbox.” A metaphor for a collection of helpful information that practitioners can use. The Association supplies members with checklists and information that assist them in the day-to-day work environment.

The Knowledge-based YouTube Channel

The Association’s Channel features videos and playlists of over 150 Videos, all related to Security Driving, Secure Transportation, and Executive Protection. Some videos are our original content, and others are added from other YouTube channels. Most of the videos are mini online learning programs. Subjects covered are Case Studies, Security Driving, Business of Security, Vehicles, Executive Protection, Secure Transportation, ADAS, and Armored Vehicles. We are always looking for new educational content and periodically update the Playlists – to stay updated, we suggest subscribing to our channel.

Podcast

Every week, from mid-2020 to the end of 2021, we shared secure transportation and executive protection knowledge, headlines, trends, and educational content.

We provided a quick reaction to events that affect the profession, such as the Covid 19 Center.

In 2020, we created the COVID-19 Secure Transportation and EP Information center. In the Center, readers found articles, data, and metrics to assist practitioners working in the Secure Transportation and Executive Protection profession. Our goal was to help the community navigate its way through the problems created by the pandemic.

The Center supplied Information shared by association members, such as training in the age of Covid, sanitizing vehicles, and Information that a professional can use to develop a post-pandemic business model.

Industry Surveys

From time to time, with the assistance of the Membership, we conduct industry surveys. Our goal is to collect metrics for the Executive Protection and Secure Transportation profession. The data collected can assist practitioners with the decision-making process. Some of the survey results were for members only, but others we released to the community. Below are the links to the survey results.

Training Survey

One of the most frequently asked questions on social media and the Association’s Network is, “What training program should I attend?” There is an infinite number of training providers marketing their programs on any given day.

  • Training Costs
  • Training Duration
  • ROI from Training
  • Decision-Making Process
  • Post Training Employment Opportunities
  • Training Funding Sources
  • Training Subject Matter

Our 2021 Training Survey offers many of the answers to these questions.

Covid-19

We surveyed in April 2020 at the then height of the pandemic. The purpose of the survey was to measure the impact Covid-19 had on secure transportation and what additional measures were being taken to mitigate infection risk.

Executive Vehicles

The International Security Driver Association has conducted the Executive Vehicle and Secure Transportation Survey every two years since 2013.

The Survey questions cover all aspects of secure transportation. The goal of the survey is to examine trends and collect data that develop a broader perspective of the secure transportation profession.

The Issue of Certification

There is no question that a recognized Executive Protection Certification is what the industry needs. But we get the impression that many of those working in the Profession or trying to work in the Profession do not understand the concept of a Professional Certification.

Corporate Executive Protection Spending Increasing

There has been a great deal of talk on social media about how the industry is growing at an exponential rate. We agree, but we ask the question, in what sector of the Profession is it growing, and what sector is increasing their spending on Executive Protection?

Best Practices for Protective Driver Training

We have close to 50 years of experience conducting various driver training programs and services that had to withstand the scrutiny of a Corporate Security community, Corporate Legal, Human Resources, and Compliance departments. Along with Government and Military organizations, which are not bashful to tell you exactly what they think.

  • Best practices for Protective Driver training and purchasing an armored vehicle.
  • Best Practices for Security Driving, Armored Vehicles, Executive Vehicles, and Selecting a Training provider
