From 1979 – I’m sure most of the people reading this do not remember the Volvo 242 GT, it was a hell of a performance vehicle. We were sponsored by Volvo at the time. In the late 70’s Volvo had the reputation as a boring to drive, old man’s, vehicle. Long on safety, but short on performance, the 242 GT would change that thought pattern.

We made some promotional movies (no video at the time) which were displayed at Volvo dealerships throughout the US. (We are in the process of getting the 16 mm movies digitized.)
We also did some product tests with the Volvo engineers and ad people. The results of the tests and some comments I made generated this ad. It was in the Car Magazines, made it into the news weeklies (Remember them) and other none automotive publications.
