Armored Vehicle Market Report and Ballistic Standards

A recent PR Release from a company marketing a comprehensive study of the Luxury Armored Vehicle Market states it will grow “at a good pace” in the years 2021 to 2026. That pace, depending on which report you go by, could be anywhere between 2% and 6%.

By the way, if you want to buy this report and others like it, it will cost you thousands of dollars.

We agree that the use of armored vehicles is growing, but the most recent ISDA Executive Vehicle Survey results indicated that there was a decreased use of armored vehicles in the past two years. Since the survey included the Pandemic years, that data point may not be indicative of future sales.

Why is this important?

The predicted sales growth means at some point in the near future you may be driving an armored vehicle. Now is a good time to get an understanding of the dynamics of armored vehicles. More importantly, get trained on how to drive one.

Confusion with Ballistic Standards

We have found that for many years we have been involved with armored vehicles that there is a great deal of confusion concerning Ballistic Standards.

For those practitioners involved in Secure Transportation and who have a need or may need armored vehicles, I would suggest downloading the Ballistic Standards App from Teijin. We have posted this app in the past, but we feel like we should share the app with our Podcast audience. The app makes it easier to find the specific data you require relating to international ballistic standards. The app provides up-to-date figures of major international standards for different ballistic protection applications, including soft and hard ballistic protection.

The app is available for free on Android and iOS platforms.
